Ley and his family lived on a boat in France from when he was 5 years old. Whilst holidaying in Greece Ley spent his 12th birthday at the beach, unfortunately he got stung by a jellyfish in the morning and in the afternoon he suffered a fall which resulted in his brain injury. He was in a coma and following 3 months’ stay in hospital came back to England, where due to his amnesia he had to relearn skills such as reading and writing and learning how to walk again. He made good progress attending Kernow School, Duchy Grammer School and then on to Camborne Technical College. He was also very involved in the local youth club and Sea Cadets. Ley is supported to live quite an independent life, attending clubs and groups such as Headway Cornwall and very much enjoys working at his local Wetherspoons. Ley is always keen to try new skills and make new friends, he is a valued member of our Scorrier group.
